High School Astronaut Training (HSAT) Program

  • What is the HSAT Program?

    • The HSAT program is dedicated to inspiring and preparing high school students for careers in space exploration, regardless of their location or access to in-person resources, through a combination of aerospace education, physical training, technical training, and leadership and teamwork development. Our goal is to provide a comprehensive and immersive experience that helps students develop the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to succeed in the exciting and challenging field of space exploration. Through the HSAT program, we aim to cultivate the next generation of leaders in space and help them achieve their dreams of becoming astronauts, whether they participate in the program online or in-person.
  • What Does the Program Cover?

    • Aerospace education: Students will learn about the history and current state of space exploration, as well as the science and technology involved in spaceflight. This could include lectures and presentations by experts in the field, as well as hands-on activities such as building and launching model rockets.

    • Physical training: Students will participate in physical training activities to help them build the strength, endurance, and flexibility required for spaceflight. This could include exercises such as running, swimming, and weightlifting, as well as balance and coordination drills.

    • Technical training: Students will receive training in technical skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication, which are important for success as an astronaut. This could include classroom instruction and hands-on activities such as building and programming robots or designing and conducting science experiments.

    • Leadership and teamwork development: Students will participate in activities and exercises to develop their leadership and teamwork skills, including group projects, simulations, and team-building activities.
  • Where is the HSAT Program Available?
